Foundation Pathways

This sixth form provision is aimed at young people who need a more personalised curriculum.

The programme involves improving Functional English, Maths and ICT skills alongside developing personal and social development skills, independent living skills, vocational and employability skills.

The programme is tailored to an individual's interests, abilities and needs. Every student will be working towards achieving recognisable accreditation and qualifications to ensure progression.

Students are taught in our purpose built sixth form centre where they have access to state of the art ICT and modern facilities to provide the highest standard of further education. We also include many opportunities to participate in outdoor activities to further enhance the learning experience.

We have a team of specialist teaching and support staff who work hard to ensure a safe, secure, positive and successful learning environment and promote positive relationships.

The students will benefit from;

• A timetable structured to their needs, levels of ability and interests.

• Wider choice and flexibility of programmes and ways of learning.

• Access to personal support.

• Building on skills for independence and personal effectiveness.

• Effective career guidance and clear destination routes.

Foundation Pathways will encourage students to achieve their potential and provide a learning environment which develops each student's individual skills and ensures they achieve their full potential. The programme provides individual personal challenges which enable the students to become active, confident, and successful members of the community.
