FOUNDATION SCRIPTURE
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither - whatever they do prospers.
Psalm 1:3
It is a privilege to lead a high achieving and over-subscribed ‘outstanding’ 11-18 Church of England academy.
St Christopher’s opened in 1958 and remains committed to ensuring that all of our pupils and students are able to prosper in a caring and supportive community. The young people in our care benefit from high standards of teaching in a range of courses to cater for all abilities. We strive to provide a genuinely holistic education including a rich and diverse programme of enrichment activities and an unashamed value placed on spiritual nurture, with religious worship and teaching at the centre of school life. more
The school’s Foundation Scripture is underpinned by key themes which inform the approach to relationships, help shape the curriculum and guide school improvement.
1. Knowing what it is to be fully alive
2. Learning how to live well together
3. Securing wisdom and understanding
These themes are in turn supported by the school’s key Christian virtues of forgiveness, friendship, hope, justice, love, peace and trust.
We are hugely ambitious academically for our pupils, ensuring that they secure the results to continue their education at the best universities or on training courses which will prepare them for careers of significance and worth.
Our most recent Ofsted Inspection Report judged the school Good and confirmed the Outstanding quality of pupils’ personal development, behaviour and welfare and described the sixth form provision as Outstanding. The latest SIAMS report reached the conclusion that the school was Outstanding.
