A Level Success 2020
13/08/2020

At a time of great uncertainty for many this has been a day of triumph for St Christopher’s Sixth Form!

It has been a delight to witness so many students receiving outstanding A-level results, allowing them to access the very best universities. It is a joy to lead a school which equips so many with the opportunity to make their mark nationally and internationally. St Christopher’s has much to be proud of.

With a 100% pass rate, top grades (A*-C) at above 80% and a record number of students securing a clean sweep of A* and A grades, we have surpassed even our high expectations. From students who have exceeded their target grades, to those securing places on highly competitive university courses, we pass-on our congratulations and best wishes.

Our students deserve all the praise and acclaim that they will receive and I wish them well – they are a wonderful group of young people, cheated out of their examinations but now able to celebrate! I would also like to highlight the support of their parents and the dedication and expertise of our talented teachers who have guided and nurtured so many students through their time in the sixth form and helped to manage the submission of centre assessed grades with professionalism and integrity.

We are passionate about raising levels of aspiration and encouraging pupils to aim high and these results confirm that we are doing our job really well.

Olivia O’Neill gained the grades (A* A* A*) she needed to study at Oxford University,

"This past few months have been very challenging and I can’t believe I got what I needed for Oxford University. Its fantastic!”

Olivia’s parents commented,

“After a stressful week this has been brilliant! The unknown due to there being no exams has been crazy. We just didn’t have a clue what to expect but for Olivia to get the grades she needed for Oxford is just amazing and proves all the hardwork she has put in over the last year! We couldn’t be any more pleased for her.”

Joseph Philbrook also got the grades (A* A B) he needed to study Archaeology at Cambridge University,

"I’m over the moon to get into Cambridge to study Archaeology! Thank you to all the staff over the last two years for their support."

Congratulations to all our students and we wish them the very best in their future endeavours!
