A level Success 2021
11/08/2021

It has been a delight to witness so many students receiving outstanding A-level results, allowing them to access the very best universities. It is a joy to lead a school which equips so many with the opportunity to make their mark nationally and internationally. St Christopher’s has much to be proud of.

With a 100% pass rate, top grades (A*-C) at above 80% and a record number of students securing a clean sweep of A* and A grades, we have surpassed even our high expectations. From students who have exceeded their target grades, to those securing places on highly competitive university courses, we pass-on our congratulations and best wishes.

Head of St Christopher’s Sixth Form, Mr P Cuff commented; “In-spite of such a difficult two years we are incredibly proud of the results our students have achieved. The tutors know them best and is reflected in the grades that have been awarded. We wish them all the very best for their future endeavours!”

Our students deserve all the praise and acclaim that they will receive and I wish them well – they are a wonderful group of young people, cheated out of their examinations but now able to celebrate! I would also like to highlight the support of their parents and the dedication and expertise of our talented teachers who have guided and nurtured so many students through their time in the sixth form and helped to manage the submission of centre assessed grades with professionalism and integrity.

“After the year we’ve had I’m really pleased with my results, A*A*A. With these I’ve got my first choice to read Psychology at the University of York. The Sixth Form has been really helpful, especially with all the upheaval all the students and I have faced. All my tutors have been fantastic throughout and couldn’t be more thankful everything they have done. I’m so excited now to start on my next adventure!”

“I wasn’t expecting that at all, A*A*A*, and all the handwork has really paid off! The teaching at St Christopher’s Sixth Form has brought out the best in me, even with it being such a weird two years. I’m looking forward to starting my course at Warwick University where I will be reading Mathematics and Physics. I’d like to give a special shout to Mrs Martin and Dr Maryon, who without them I don’t think I would have done as well as I have.”

Fred (Burnley)

“After the last two strange years we’ve had of being in lockdown and learning online I’m so delighted with my results and so proud of everyone for all we’ve achieved while at sixth form. I have loved being at St. Christopher’s and am so glad that I chose to study here, all of my teachers have been absolutely incredible and have helped me every step of the way during in school teaching and for the months we were in lockdown, I really cannot thank them enough. In September I’m going to St. Andrews University to study for a degree in maths and now I just can’t wait to go and start this next chapter.”

Isabel (Blackburn)

“Achieving the fantastic grades of AAB meant that I can start the process of a childhood dream of training to be a commercial airline Pilot. These grades were only made possible by the massive amount of effort, dedication and kindness which was given to me by all the teachers and staff at St Christopher’s, allowing me such a positive outlook now I am moving on from Sixth Form.”

James (Langho)

“It’s been a difficult two years and a massive relief to get these results! The Sixth Form and our tutors have handled it so well and really prepped us for all that’s come our way and for anything that’s to come. I’m over the moon with gaining A*A*A and can’t wait to get to Lancaster University to read Psychology.”
