Church of England Schools Net Zero Project
22/03/2024

The Church of England has set an ambitious target to reach net zero carbon by 2030. Find out what Church of England schools are doing to reduce their carbon emissions and what support is available, including a new Energy and Buildings Self Audit Tool, aimed at helping schools understand their buildings better and take their first steps in their eco journeys.

Having had an Eco Group at St Christopher's for over 17 years and seeing young people flourish and become change makers themselves, we are proud to be featured in the Church of England documentary 'Helping schools reach net zero carbon by 2030'.

One of the most important things we teach our children is to question and not accept the status quo. They have made positive change and convinced others to do the same, in the spirit of progress, not fear.

Collaboration will reduce our energy consumption, we are realistic knowing net zero is an unattainable goal. However, reducing consumption, energy and consumables, buying ethically, learning to grow and travel sustainably whilst respecting the Earth are principles close to our heart and taken directly from the Bible.
