On Saturday, 40 Year 11 pupils had an early start to their weekend. After meeting at school for 8.30am, they set off to The Anderton Centre in Chorley for the annual revision weekend. On arrival, pupils were given time to settle in and then the hard work began. Pupils attended a carousel of intensive revision sessions, run by members of the English department, in the conference suite facilities.
Once the final session was completed, pupils got changed and kitted up for the outdoor activity. They gathered in teams, braved the weather and went canoe-rafting on Lower Rivington Reservoir. After a delicious evening meal, pupils gathered in the board room for a fun-filled quiz. They then had an evening of socialising and relaxing together.
The Year 11 pupils who attended were a credit to themselves and their parents. The staff couldn’t praise them enough. They worked hard and joined in enthusiastically with all the activities. We hope that their hard work, and that of the staff who gave up their weekend, will pay off in the summer exams.
