On Tuesday evening (6th May) the Under 16 girls were at Darwen FC, hoping for a chance to retain the Lancashire Cup for a second year.
The girls knew it would be a tough game, coming up against an independent school with a full-time football programme who hadn't conceded a single goal in the run up to the final. After conceding a penalty in the first five minutes things weren't looking too good but our girls kept fighting and quickly pulled back level with a great goal from Katie Prysiaznyj.
The Equalizer lit a fire, and our girls went on to score another four goals. It was a hard-fought match and the opposition was tough, but our team was outstanding and thoroughly deserved their 5-1 victory.
Goal scorers:
• Katie Prysiaznyj (Hattrick)
• Charlotte Del Strother
• Maria Musgrove
“What a way for the Year 11's to end their time at school, they have been a pleasure to manage and have changed the face of girl's football at St Christopher's.”
-Mrs Gleave, Deputy Head of PE
We couldn't be prouder of this team and the commitment they have shown to school football this year.
BACK-TO-BACK LANCASHIRE CHAMPIONS!
