I am delighted to invite you to our annual Open Night which this year will take place on Wednesday 4th October from 6.00 - 8.00pm.
This popular event will provide you with the opportunity to view our facilities, meet staff, together with literally hundreds of our pupils. It is a special feature of a St Christopher’s open evening that so many of our pupils volunteer to act as guides and subject ambassadors for one of the flagship events in the school year. They are proud of their school and I know that they are already looking forward to meeting you and your son or daughter.
I too am looking forward to spending time with our new prospective parents and pupils. You will have the opportunity to listen to me during a short presentation (repeated three times during the evening) which will explain the special features of this Outstanding church school. I will also spend some time explaining as clearly as possible the admissions criteria which the governors apply to entry for Year 7.
As a father of three I am acutely aware of the importance of choosing the right secondary school. Please, in addition to visiting us, spend some time studying our most recent Ofsted inspection report (March 2022), SIAMS inspection (December 2016), aacademic results. Taken together I am confident that this evidence provides a compelling case for St Christopher’s as a church of national repute and the leading secondary school in East Lancashire.
Kind regards,
Canon R D Jones
