Honouring Decades of Service: St Christopher’s Celebrates Mr Whitehead’s Dedication as Governor
13/01/2025

Friday marked a special occasion as the school community gathered together in a service of Holy Communion to offer thanks to God for Mr Frank Whitehead’s service to the school’s governing body.

Mr Whitehead has served as governor since the early 1980s and as chairman of the governing body for the last twenty years. Throughout this time he has acted with wisdom and good judgement, dedicated to upholding the school motto, Ad Gloriam Dei – to the glory of God.

Mr Whitehead was accompanied at the service by his wife and three sons, all of whom attended St Christopher’s, together with governors, past present, and former headmaster, Mr Alasdair Coates. The service was led by The Bishop of Blackburn who commended Mr Whitehead for upholding the vision and purpose of this deeply and distinctly Christian, Church of England High School.
