Our Year 10 pupils have recently completed their two weeks of Work Experience, with a wide range of employers across the county. As ever, we've received some wonderful feedback from businesses, some of which you can read below:
“Emilia was excellent on her work experience. She showed great initiative, team work, time management and carried out tasks quickly and effectively. She helped us with so many projects during her two weeks, showing her creative flair! We were very lucky to have her here. Excellent attitude, excellent student!”
“Harry performed very well within the company, he took on all tasks with enthusiasm and gained a great deal of overall experience. He has proved himself, and I think that he would be a valuable asset to any company.”
“Abigail engaged well with everyone she spent time with, she asked questions and remained interested. Abigail was happy to have a go at basic admin tasks and help out on a variety of different teams. Lovely student and welcome to come back.”
“I found Bartosz to be very polite and helpful. He completed tasks that I gave him to a good standard and he seemed eager to help.”
“Grace has worked very hard during her placement. She has been an asset to the team. She has communicated with children effectively and has shown lots of care.”
“Cameron is a very pleasant and helpful young man. He came to work on time daily and was smart and tidy in his appearance. Whatever tasks he was given he carried out with no issues. He is a credit to your school.”
“Hannah has been an asset over the last two weeks. She has worked incredibly hard showing a lot of initiative. She has grown in confidence and been a valued member of the team.”
“Toby completed a range on engineering tasks competently and demonstrated excellent communication skills with the engineering team.”
“Jack worked very hard when he was here. He was always willing to help the teachers and pupils. Jack was polite and it was wonderful to have him in the school. He can return anytime.”
“Georgia showed good communication skills with both staff and children and had organised an activity to complete with the children that related to our planning that week. It has been a pleasure to have Georgia working with us.”
“Fran worked incredibly well with everyone during her work experience. She spent time in all areas of the company, in our offices and warehouses and worked well with everyone. She grew in confidence throughout the two weeks and it was a pleasure to have her in the company. We wish her all the best for the future.”
“Olivia showed great maturity on her part within school. She was very welcoming, asked lots of questions and was a great role model to the children. Olivia used her initiative and always asked if she could help. A great placement Olivia.”
“Joshua worked really hard during his work experience. He was keen to complete all tasks and soon started working with minimal supervision. He worked well within a team and we enjoyed having his help.”

Gianluca Vozzolo spent two weeks at D&M Creative, a digital agency in Burnley and as part of his placement, produced the following report:
"Over the past two weeks I have been working at D&M Creative for work experience and doing all kinds of activities. These activities have included logo design, marketing work, research and other design projects. I have learnt how to use Adobe Creative Suite including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, which are essential in the graphic design industry. I did work for clients such as REM UK, Quest Electrical and PH7.
Damian taught me how to do most things in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop but Gary also taught me how websites are maintained and the workings behind them associated with HTML. Morgan also took me, on the Tuesday of the first week, to a business meeting. It was very insightful and interesting but I had no clue what was going on. Overall, I have learnt a lot of the key skills in Graphic Design and even extra stuff like marketing. Damian, Gary and Morgan have been really nice to me these past two weeks and it has been great to be here"
