Important Notice: Sixth Form Applicants
25/03/2020

Your place at St Christopher’s Sixth Form:

I am sure you may be feeling a little anxious and worried about your future at the moment in the light of the national crisis we are currently experiencing. You will be wondering especially about your grades and how these will be calculated by your teachers, now that your exams are not taking place. You may also be worried about your place at Sixth Form.

We want to reassure you that our original offer of a place to study at St Christopher’s still stands. We shall take into consideration all the information we have received and will receive from your teachers, and then from the exam boards. Can we reassure you that your place with us will not be affected by the current coronavirus crisis.

In the meantime, please use all this time you have at home wisely. You now have a great opportunity to get to grips with A-level study, so that when you arrive you will be more than ready for study. Those of you who have applied to join us in September will have received or will be receiving an email, to which we have attached what are called ‘Bridging Units’ for the A-levels you are currently thinking of studying. These units will help to ‘bridge’ the gap in your knowledge between GCSE study and your first year of A-level. They will provide you with some foundational building blocks for all your studies.

If you have any queries or questions at this time, please do not hesitate to get in touch via email. We shall keep you informed of any further developments.

If you have not applied for a place with us for September do not worry. We are still happy to welcome new applications. The easiest way to do this is via the form on our Sixth Form website, click here to access it.

With all good wishes, keep safe and we look forward to seeing you in the not too distant future.

Mr P Cuff
Deputy Headteacher and Head of Sixth Form
