CHARM Awards Winner
04/03/2019

CHARM is the exciting new inter-schools event from Ynot Aspire & Carer’s link Lancashire (Young Carers) and is an event to celebrate the talents and achievements of young people in Hyndburn. CHARM is made up of the initials of the six secondary schools in Hyndburn, with St Christopher’s being the first.

After two weeks of lunchtime auditions and very keen performers, we held a St Christopher’s Talent night in school on Thursday 13th December. We had fifteen acts, who did a wonderful job performing in front of their families and friends and, of course, the judge!  The overall winner from the night was Lewis Mumby, who went on to represent our school in the final awards ceremony at Oswaldtwistle Civic Theatre on the 7th February 2019.

Lewis performed an amazing contemporary dance and after some tough competition from the other high school competitors, he was crowned overall talent show winner of the night! Lewis will now go on to perform at Ynot black tie event at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel in March.

Our other nominated also did extremely well, resulting in Amelia Litherland winning the category of Inspirational Young Voice.

It was extremely rewarding to see how many talented and inspirational pupils we have within our school community. It is great to see this recognised in an event together with all the other Hyndburn schools.
