Headmasters Thanks to Pupils
20/07/2020

Dear Pupil

Well done!

On the last day of this school year (Founders’ Day) I wanted to take the opportunity to say ‘thank you’. The last four months have been quite extraordinary. None of us could have predicted what has unfolded and many of us have been tested by a global pandemic in a local context. The way in which you have responded as individual pupils and students has said much about the community of St Christopher’s in testing times.

It has been a privilege to know that so many of you have risen to the challenge. Whether missing out on public examinations, working from home or attending open school, you have exhibited the confidence and stamina to get through. You have made good use of your God given talents and put into practice the Christian values that underpin all that we stand for as a Church school.

I am delighted that we have now come through this disruptive stage in your education. Plans are in place for your safe return in September when we look forward to welcoming you back. Things will be different with year groups taught together in different parts of the school site and with little or no interaction between years but what will remain the same is great worship, teaching, learning and support. You will need to play your part – following teachers’ instructions to the letter, working hard to catch-up with any lost learning and paying particular attention to the need for personal hygiene and handwashing.

When we meet in September we will all want to get cracking. We will look to formally acknowledge and reward your hard work during lockdown and put in place plans to make sure that your academic work is back on track. For those of you who have struggled we will be there to offer support.

With my best wishes for a restful and safe summer break.
