At a time of considerable national uncertainty regarding the introduction of more rigorous and challenging GCSE, I am thrilled that the secondary school performance tables confirm that our 'class of 2017' set new records for both progress and attainment.
I am delighted that over 90% of the year group gained a good pass in English and over 80% in maths - qualifications which will ensure that all pathways remain open to them.
Record A-level results help to reinforce our most recent Ofsted report which judged the sixth form to be Outstanding.
Our delight also extends to those aspects of a young person's education for which data is of little help. We take great pride in educating pupils in order that they are civil, polite, respectful as well securing strong academic qualifications; education in all its fullness.
